Putting Your Foot Down!!

This is for next year!! I came very close to buying a Halloween village just like those Christmas villages that have become so popular. To be honest, the Halloween village was gorgeous and I knew exactly where I would put it, but then I realized that I could only have it out one month of the year and all those cute little creepy houses, were adding up. So... say no to collections, regardless of how small and inexpensive they may be. They still cost money whether on display or packing them up to move to your next house... which will have to be bigger so that you can set out your latest collection!

Lets Talk Halloween...

We live in an area that seems to attract kid for Halloween and as a result, we have to buy lots. But, I do buy items that are on sale and I try to pick non sugar items that I can use for the kids lunches if we should find that we have treats left over after the doorbell stops ringing.  Who doesn't like bags of potato chips??

Another trick, if your kids go out early on Halloween night,  take what they don't like... and they will tell you (trust me) and hand it out that night! Not all kids are as picky as mine ;)  This has come in sooo handy when WE ran out of candy and yes that has happened a couple of time.

We Are All Ready for Halloween!!

Have you noticed just how expensive pumpkins are in the stores?? Around here, they are closing in on $5.00 each. We recently moved to the country and the former owners left a garden for us to play in. We just collected 3 pumpkins that are now sitting on our front steps... along with a pretend one lol! We took photos to send to the granddaughter who loves all things Halloween and then we sliced one open. We have pumpkin soup simmering on the stove... pumpkin seeds ready to roast and yes, we are saving some of the seeds to plant next year. And for pumpkin recipes... you just have no idea how many are available!!
